Seth did a great job setting my new pendant Lights. Very professional and reasonably priced.
Thank you Seth for your professionalism and explaining the work to be done in detail. Definitely recommend their small business for all electrical needs.
We hired this electrician for our breaker panel replacement in Dallas after buying an older home. The existing panel wasn’t up to code and couldn’t support the modern appliances that got installed by the previous owner. They installed a new electrical service panel, whole home surge protection & hosted a city inspection. He explained everything very clearly. If you’re in need of a home electrical panel upgrade, I highly recommend them. The work was clean, efficient and the whole process was stress-free. Great experience from start to finish thanks guys!
Wallace Electric replaced some lighting fixtures as well as hung new ones for me at a reasonable price. They were able to come out the day after our estimate and even being behind schedule, were still able to finish the job. Everything looks exactly as I hoped. Highly recommend this family business.
These guys are awesome - I was painting for a customer and removed the can lights to remove popcorn texture, however they required some adjustment because of the new ceiling height. Wallace was hired by the customer to do other light renovations and so I asked them if they could add on a small scope. I know this was a big ask because it's always difficult to change your scope of work especially late at night as they were ( the customer was moving in the next day and working hard to add extra touches). But their service was awesome and obviously very skilled because the modification was quick and professional and the customer loved the seamless service. I also found the prices very affordable and would continue to do business with them.
Seth did an awesome job installing two ceiling fans. He did a great job of answering other questions I asked him. He was very friendly and respectful. He wired a Blink doorbell for free. Other companies where charging me $50 to connect two wires. I definitely would recommend using them and I will use them again if I need additional service.
I cannot say enough how great Wallace electric is, they came very fast at 10pm at night, we had an emergency and lost power in all outlets and lights. They had everything up and running in no time. Great attitudes, very smart, highly knowledgeable, nice guys. I will be using them in the future 110%, this is the type of company that is a gem and I very highly recommend them. They let u know all pricing up front, no hidden fees, answered all my questions, gave quotes for future projects. If you are needing an electrician in down, then call Wallace electric, I know I will.
I needed an outlet installed in my garage for my fridge and they installed it for me. Very fast and professional.
I had a fan transferred from master bedroom to game room and a new fan placed in the master bedroom. He was in and out like a breeze. Answered all questions and explained everything clearly. The best part is they are a local family owned business in my area.
Seth replaced 5 outlets, a few breaker switches, and fixed some broken switches and added grounding to them. He was very professional, explained what he was doing, and did everything up to code. We also got a promotional discount and a 2-year warranty. Overall a very pleasant experience and I'll be using the company if anything should happen in the future.
They rewired my house, and the customer service was exceptional and they accommodated all my needs, and answered all my questions. And did great work.
trustworthy! great work! They replaced my electrical panel and switches! they were very very professional would recommend!
Seth did a great job fixing my wiring in our breaker box and upgrading our ceiling fan. Fast worker and super friendly!
I was having some built in shelves installed that required an outlet. Caleb came recommended from my installer. Caleb set up an appointment and came out that next week. Caleb and his partner came on time and got right to work. They were absolutely great to work with. They were professional and treated my home with respect. The outlet was installed to the exact specifications that was needed by the installer. After they were done they made sure everything was I working order and then cleaned up. I was highly impressed. I will definitely be using his services again and will recommend him to my friends and family.

Electrical Subpanel Repair Service
A subpanel distributes power to a specific area of your property, so any problem inside it can quickly disrupt everything that area depends on. When a subpanel develops a fault, you might suddenly lose power to a garage, a workshop, a home addition, or another structure entirely. Wallace Electric repairs subpanel problems of every kind, large and small, for homes and businesses throughout Burleson and the surrounding communities we serve. A subpanel repair is quite different from a full replacement, since many common problems can be fixed without replacing the entire panel. A loose connection, a failed breaker, a damaged feeder lug, or an improper bonding issue can very often be corrected directly without a full replacement. The foundation of every good repair is an accurate diagnosis that finds the true source of the problem. Our licensed electricians always test methodically rather than guessing, since a subpanel involves the feeder, the breakers, the grounding, and the bonding. They carefully trace each symptom back to its true root cause before ever recommending any repair work. That careful and patient approach ensures the real underlying problem gets fully solved and does not simply return again later. A properly diagnosed and repaired subpanel restores safe, steady, and reliable power to the entire area it serves.
Subpanel problems show up in several recognizable ways that signal a need for repair. A sudden loss of power to an entire area, such as a garage or workshop, often points directly to a feeder or subpanel fault. Breakers in the subpanel that trip repeatedly may indicate an overloaded circuit, a hidden fault, or a deeper panel issue. Flickering lights in the area served by the subpanel can often signal a loose connection somewhere at the feeder. A burning smell or any warmth at the subpanel is a serious warning sign that demands your immediate attention. Buzzing or crackling sounds coming from the subpanel strongly suggest arcing, which is a genuine and immediate fire hazard. Scorch marks, melted plastic, or any discoloration inside the subpanel reveal connections that have already overheated badly. Rust or corrosion inside the panel points to moisture intrusion, which is especially common in subpanels in garages or outdoor structures. A subpanel that was originally wired incorrectly may show subtle symptoms that only a trained professional can properly diagnose. Recognizing these warning signs early lets our electricians repair the problem before it ever becomes truly dangerous.
Loose and corroded connections are among the most common subpanel problems we repair. The feeder connects to the subpanel at large lugs, and those connections can gradually loosen over time. A loose feeder connection generates intense heat as electricity jumps the gap, which damages both the lug and the surrounding panel. Branch circuit connections inside the subpanel can also work loose over time and cause intermittent power or nuisance tripping. Corrosion is especially common in subpanels located in garages, basements, or detached structures that are regularly exposed to moisture. That corrosion creates electrical resistance, which generates heat and steadily weakens the electrical path over time. Our electricians carefully inspect every connection in the subpanel and then torque each one to the proper specification. We clean or fully replace any corroded connections in order to restore a solid and reliable electrical path. Catching a loose or corroded connection early prevents it from causing wider and more expensive damage to the rest of the subpanel. This kind of focused repair often restores reliable power and removes a very real fire risk at the same time.
Improper wiring is a problem we frequently uncover when repairing subpanels, especially those originally installed by unqualified hands. The single most common mistake by far is improperly bonding the neutral and ground together inside the subpanel. In a subpanel, the neutral and the ground must always be kept completely separate, unlike in the main service panel. When they are improperly bonded together, current can flow on the ground conductor, which is genuinely unsafe. This dangerous mistake often goes completely unnoticed until a professional inspects the subpanel during a repair. Another common error we find is an undersized feeder that simply cannot safely carry the subpanel’s full load. A missing grounding electrode at a detached structure is yet another frequent code violation that we routinely correct. Our electricians quickly identify these wiring errors and correct each one to the National Electrical Code. We treat these corrections as essential safety repairs rather than as merely optional improvements. Fixing improper wiring removes a hidden and dangerous hazard that could otherwise quietly persist for years.
Failed breakers and damaged components are another whole category of subpanel repair that we regularly handle. A breaker inside the subpanel can gradually wear out after years of steady use and repeated tripping. A breaker that trips below its rating, refuses to reset, or feels hot to the touch has very likely failed internally. We test the breaker carefully to confirm if the fault lies in the breaker itself or in the circuit it protects. When a breaker has clearly failed, we replace it with a device that is properly listed and rated for that subpanel. The feeder breaker back in the main panel can also fail and cause a complete loss of power to the subpanel. A damaged bus bar inside the subpanel is a far more serious issue that we always assess very carefully. In some cases we can repair just the affected area, while in others the extent of the damage requires a full replacement. Our electricians work to diagnose the true cause and then recommend the right repair to you honestly. We replace only the component that has actually failed rather than simply guessing at the problem.
Diagnosing a subpanel problem correctly requires understanding the whole electrical system from the main panel outward. The fault could lie in the main panel feeder breaker, somewhere along the feeder run, or inside the subpanel itself. A subpanel involves the feeder, the breakers, the grounding, and the bonding, and each one of these can fail. Our electricians test systematically to carefully separate these possibilities rather than simply guessing at the cause. We check the feeder connections, the breakers, the bus bar, and the grounding throughout the entire subpanel. We always verify that the neutral and ground are correctly separated, since improper bonding is a common and hidden issue. We measure voltage and trace the circuits step by step to find the true source of the problem. This careful and patient diagnosis prevents us from replacing parts that were never actually the problem. It also ensures that the actual fault gets fully repaired so the same problem does not simply return later. Accurate diagnosis saves you money on unnecessary parts and restores genuine, lasting safety to your subpanel.

The Importance of a Licensed Electrician for Electrical Subpanel Repair in Burleson, TX
Repairing a subpanel involves details that demand the knowledge of a licensed professional. The grounding and bonding of a subpanel differ from the main panel in a critical way. A licensed electrician knows the neutral and ground must be kept separate in a subpanel. They recognize improper bonding, a common hidden hazard that unqualified work often creates. In Texas, electrical licensing is regulated by the state to protect homeowners from unqualified work. A licensed professional can diagnose a subpanel problem accurately rather than guessing. They work safely around the energized feeder and the live components inside the panel. They make every repair to the National Electrical Code and the local amendments around Burleson. A licensed electrician also carries insurance that protects you if something goes wrong. A subpanel repaired incorrectly can overheat, fail to protect circuits, or create a shock hazard. Unlicensed subpanel work may seem cheaper today and create a serious danger tomorrow. Wallace Electric sends only licensed, background checked technicians to every subpanel repair, so the work is always done right.

Commonly Asked Electrical Subpanel Repair Questions
Subpanel repair raises several practical questions about cost, safety, and common problems. The answers below address the topics homeowners across Burleson ask us about most often.
The cost of subpanel repair depends on what is actually wrong inside the panel. A simple fix, like tightening a loose connection, costs far less than a complex repair. Replacing a failed breaker adds the cost of the device, which varies by type and compatibility. Correcting improper wiring, such as separating an improperly bonded neutral and ground, takes time. Repairing a damaged feeder lug or bus bar is more involved and costs more. The location of the subpanel affects access and therefore the labor involved. A subpanel in a detached structure may take more time to diagnose and repair. Because every subpanel problem differs, Wallace Electric provides a clear written quote before any work begins.
The diagnosis is an essential part of the repair and its cost. Finding the true cause of a subpanel problem takes skill, proper tools, and careful testing. An accurate diagnosis prevents wasted money on parts that were never the problem. We test the feeder, the breakers, the grounding, and the bonding to find the fault. This upfront work ensures the repair actually solves the problem the first time. Skipping diagnosis to save money often leads to repeat visits and higher overall cost. We believe a fair price reflects an accurate diagnosis and a lasting repair. Financing options are available for larger subpanel repairs that go beyond a simple fix.
The most reliable way to learn your cost is to have a licensed electrician evaluate the subpanel. We safely inspect the panel, test the components, and identify exactly what is wrong. We then explain whether the fix is a connection repair, a breaker replacement, or a wiring correction. From there, we build a transparent estimate that lists each part of the work clearly. You will know exactly what you are paying for before we begin. We never add hidden charges once the job is underway. This honest approach has earned the trust of homeowners throughout Burleson. Call Wallace Electric today for an accurate subpanel repair quote.
A garage or workshop losing power often points to a subpanel or feeder problem. If the structure is powered by a subpanel, a fault there can cut power to the whole area. The feeder breaker in the main panel may have tripped or failed. A loose or damaged feeder connection can interrupt power to the subpanel. A fault inside the subpanel itself can also cause a complete loss of power. Sometimes the problem is a single tripped breaker affecting only part of the structure. Identifying the true cause requires tracing the issue from the main panel outward. This is where a professional diagnosis makes the difference.
Several specific issues commonly cause a structure to lose power. A failed feeder breaker in the main panel stops power before it reaches the subpanel. A loose feeder lug at the subpanel can interrupt the connection and cut power. Corrosion in a subpanel exposed to moisture can degrade connections over time. A damaged bus bar inside the subpanel can stop distributing power to the breakers. An underground feeder to a detached structure can be damaged and fail. Each of these causes calls for a different repair approach. Our electricians test to determine which one is responsible.
Our electricians diagnose a loss of power by checking the whole system methodically. We start at the main panel and check the feeder breaker. We trace the feeder run to the subpanel and inspect the connections. We test the subpanel breakers, the bus bar, and the grounding. We measure voltage along the way to locate where power is lost. Once we find the cause, we repair it to restore power safely. We verify the repair before we consider the job complete. If your garage or workshop lost power, contact Wallace Electric for a diagnosis.
Many subpanel problems can be repaired without replacing the entire panel. A loose connection, a corroded lug, or a single failed breaker are all repairable issues. Improper wiring, like a bonded neutral and ground, can be corrected through repair. When the subpanel itself is sound and only a component or connection has failed, repair is the right choice. This approach saves you the cost and disruption of a full replacement. Our electricians diagnose the problem to determine whether repair will fully resolve it. We then make the repair to code and verify the fix. A targeted repair restores safe power and addresses the actual fault.
Some situations call for replacement rather than repair. A subpanel with extensive bus bar damage may not be safely repairable. A subpanel with widespread corrosion from long term moisture exposure may be beyond repair. An undersized subpanel that cannot handle the load needs replacement, not just repair. A subpanel with heat damage throughout may be safer to replace entirely. In these cases, replacement is the more sensible long term choice. Our electricians assess the panel honestly and explain when replacement makes more sense. We never recommend a replacement when a repair would safely solve the problem.
Deciding between repair and replacement requires professional judgment. Our electricians evaluate the extent of the damage and the overall condition of the subpanel. We consider the panel’s age, its capacity, and the nature of the fault. We weigh the cost of repair against the value of a replacement. We then explain our recommendation and the reasoning behind it clearly. You remain in control of the decision with full information in hand. This honest approach ensures you get the right solution for your situation. For a clear answer on repair versus replacement, trust the team at Wallace Electric.
A buzzing or humming subpanel is a warning sign that should not be ignored. The most common cause is a loose connection that is arcing inside the panel. Arcing produces a buzzing or crackling sound along with dangerous heat. A loose feeder connection at the subpanel is a frequent source of this noise. A failing breaker that is not seating properly can also produce sound. These noises mean electricity is not flowing through a solid, secure connection. That condition is a genuine fire hazard that needs prompt attention. The sound is essentially the subpanel warning you of an active fault.
The danger of a buzzing subpanel lies in the heat that accompanies the sound. Arcing connections generate intense heat that can melt insulation and damage components. Over time, that heat can ignite the materials inside or around the subpanel. A buzzing subpanel is warning you of a problem that is actively worsening. Ignoring the sound allows the fault to grow more dangerous. The crackling or sizzling variation of the sound is especially concerning. These noises mean the arcing is significant and the risk is high. Prompt professional attention is the only safe response.
If your subpanel is buzzing, the safest step is to call a licensed electrician. Our electricians can safely open the subpanel and trace the source of the noise. We inspect the feeder connections, the breakers, and the bus bar for arcing and heat. We tighten or repair loose connections and replace any failed components. We verify the repair to confirm the noise and the hazard are gone. Investigating a buzzing subpanel yourself is dangerous given the live voltage. The arcing that causes the noise can also cause a serious shock. For a buzzing or noisy subpanel, contact Wallace Electric right away.
A bonded neutral and ground in a subpanel is a wiring error that creates a safety hazard. In the main panel, the neutral and ground are bonded together at one point. In a subpanel, however, they must be kept completely separate. When they are bonded in a subpanel, a second path for current is created. This allows normal current to flow on the ground conductor, which is unsafe. The ground conductor is meant to carry only fault current, not normal current. Current on the ground can energize metal parts and create a shock hazard. This is why the code requires the separation in every subpanel.
This wiring error is surprisingly common in subpanels installed by unqualified hands. The mistake often goes unnoticed because the subpanel may appear to work normally. The danger remains hidden until a fault or an inspection reveals it. The separation requires an isolated neutral bar and a grounded ground bar in the subpanel. The feeder must bring a separate neutral and a separate ground from the main panel. When any of these details is wrong, the bonding error results. A professional can identify this error during an inspection or repair. Correcting it is an essential safety repair.
Our electricians check for this error whenever we service a subpanel. We verify that the neutral bar is isolated from the enclosure. We confirm the ground bar bonds to the enclosure as it should. We check that the feeder includes a separate neutral and ground conductor. If we find an improper bond, we correct it to the National Electrical Code. This removes the hidden hazard and restores the proper function of the system. We treat this correction as an essential safety repair. If you are unsure about your subpanel wiring, contact Wallace Electric.
A breaker in your subpanel that keeps tripping is responding to a real problem. The most common cause is an overloaded circuit drawing more current than the breaker allows. This is common in workshops where heavy tools demand a lot of power. A short circuit, where a hot wire contacts a neutral or ground, trips the breaker instantly. A ground fault sends current down an unintended path and trips the breaker just as fast. A loose connection on the circuit can cause tripping that comes and goes. The breaker itself may have weakened and trip below its rating. Identifying the true cause requires testing rather than guessing.
The pattern of the tripping offers clues about the cause. A breaker that trips when a specific tool runs points to an overload or a fault in that tool. A breaker that trips immediately on reset points to a short or ground fault. A breaker that trips at random may have a loose connection or be failing. A breaker that trips under heavy load suggests an overloaded circuit. These patterns help our electricians narrow down the source. Reading them correctly is the first step toward a lasting fix. Resetting the breaker without finding the cause only delays the solution.
Our electricians diagnose a tripping subpanel breaker by testing the circuit and the breaker. We measure the current draw and compare it to the breaker rating. We inspect the connections for heat, looseness, and corrosion. We isolate the circuit to determine whether the fault is in the wiring, a device, or the breaker. Once we find the cause, we repair it so the tripping stops. We verify the fix with live readings before we finish. This thorough approach saves you from repeated trips and frustration. If a subpanel breaker keeps tripping, contact Wallace Electric for an accurate diagnosis.
Yes, a warm or hot subpanel is a sign of a dangerous problem. A properly functioning subpanel should not feel warm to the touch. Heat indicates that electricity is meeting resistance where it should not. The most common cause is a loose or corroded connection generating heat. An overloaded subpanel running near its limit can also produce excess heat. A failing breaker that is not making solid contact adds to the heat. Whatever the cause, heat inside a subpanel is a serious warning sign. It points to a fault that can worsen into a fire if left unaddressed.
The danger of a hot subpanel comes from the path that heat can take. Heat degrades insulation, damages breakers, and weakens the bus bar over time. As components degrade, the resistance and the heat both increase in a worsening cycle. Eventually, that heat can ignite insulation or other materials inside the subpanel. A hot subpanel may also signal an overloaded circuit or an undersized feeder. Either condition needs professional evaluation and correction. A subpanel in a garage or detached structure may also suffer from corrosion. Touching a hot subpanel repeatedly is not a safe way to monitor it.
If your subpanel feels warm or hot, call a licensed electrician promptly. Our electricians safely open the subpanel and use the right tools to find the heat source. We check the feeder connections, the breakers, and the bus bar for resistance and damage. We repair loose connections and replace failed components to eliminate the heat. If the subpanel is overloaded or the feeder is undersized, we address that too. We verify the repair so the subpanel returns to a safe operating temperature. Addressing a hot subpanel early prevents it from becoming a fire. For a warm or hot subpanel, contact Wallace Electric without delay.
Repairing a subpanel yourself is not safe for most homeowners. The work takes place inside an energized panel with the feeder carrying lethal voltage. The feeder lugs often stay energized even when the subpanel breakers are off. A simple mistake in that environment can cause severe injury or death. Diagnosing a subpanel problem also requires knowledge and tools most homeowners lack. The grounding and bonding rules for subpanels are a common source of error. Telling a failed breaker from a loose connection or a wiring fault is not obvious. The risks of this work far outweigh any savings from skipping a professional.
Subpanel work involves details that require professional training. The neutral and ground must be kept separate, a rule that is easy to get wrong. The feeder must be sized correctly and connected securely. A detached structure may need its own grounding electrode. Working on an energized feeder requires safe procedures and the right tools. A licensed electrician understands all of these requirements. They also carry insurance that protects you if something goes wrong. These protections are not available when you do the work yourself.
There are minor electrical tasks a confident homeowner can handle safely. Repairing a subpanel is simply not one of those tasks. The combination of lethal voltage and complex wiring rules makes it professional work. Wallace Electric handles the entire process safely, from diagnosis to repair to testing. Our background checked technicians complete the work cleanly and fully to code. You gain a safe repair backed by a five year parts and labor warranty. Save yourself the serious risk and let a licensed electrician do the job right. For safe subpanel repair, contact the team at Wallace Electric.
