Seth did a great job setting my new pendant Lights. Very professional and reasonably priced.
Thank you Seth for your professionalism and explaining the work to be done in detail. Definitely recommend their small business for all electrical needs.
We hired this electrician for our breaker panel replacement in Dallas after buying an older home. The existing panel wasn’t up to code and couldn’t support the modern appliances that got installed by the previous owner. They installed a new electrical service panel, whole home surge protection & hosted a city inspection. He explained everything very clearly. If you’re in need of a home electrical panel upgrade, I highly recommend them. The work was clean, efficient and the whole process was stress-free. Great experience from start to finish thanks guys!
Wallace Electric replaced some lighting fixtures as well as hung new ones for me at a reasonable price. They were able to come out the day after our estimate and even being behind schedule, were still able to finish the job. Everything looks exactly as I hoped. Highly recommend this family business.
These guys are awesome - I was painting for a customer and removed the can lights to remove popcorn texture, however they required some adjustment because of the new ceiling height. Wallace was hired by the customer to do other light renovations and so I asked them if they could add on a small scope. I know this was a big ask because it's always difficult to change your scope of work especially late at night as they were ( the customer was moving in the next day and working hard to add extra touches). But their service was awesome and obviously very skilled because the modification was quick and professional and the customer loved the seamless service. I also found the prices very affordable and would continue to do business with them.
Seth did an awesome job installing two ceiling fans. He did a great job of answering other questions I asked him. He was very friendly and respectful. He wired a Blink doorbell for free. Other companies where charging me $50 to connect two wires. I definitely would recommend using them and I will use them again if I need additional service.
I cannot say enough how great Wallace electric is, they came very fast at 10pm at night, we had an emergency and lost power in all outlets and lights. They had everything up and running in no time. Great attitudes, very smart, highly knowledgeable, nice guys. I will be using them in the future 110%, this is the type of company that is a gem and I very highly recommend them. They let u know all pricing up front, no hidden fees, answered all my questions, gave quotes for future projects. If you are needing an electrician in down, then call Wallace electric, I know I will.
I needed an outlet installed in my garage for my fridge and they installed it for me. Very fast and professional.
I had a fan transferred from master bedroom to game room and a new fan placed in the master bedroom. He was in and out like a breeze. Answered all questions and explained everything clearly. The best part is they are a local family owned business in my area.
Seth replaced 5 outlets, a few breaker switches, and fixed some broken switches and added grounding to them. He was very professional, explained what he was doing, and did everything up to code. We also got a promotional discount and a 2-year warranty. Overall a very pleasant experience and I'll be using the company if anything should happen in the future.
They rewired my house, and the customer service was exceptional and they accommodated all my needs, and answered all my questions. And did great work.
trustworthy! great work! They replaced my electrical panel and switches! they were very very professional would recommend!
Seth did a great job fixing my wiring in our breaker box and upgrading our ceiling fan. Fast worker and super friendly!
I was having some built in shelves installed that required an outlet. Caleb came recommended from my installer. Caleb set up an appointment and came out that next week. Caleb and his partner came on time and got right to work. They were absolutely great to work with. They were professional and treated my home with respect. The outlet was installed to the exact specifications that was needed by the installer. After they were done they made sure everything was I working order and then cleaned up. I was highly impressed. I will definitely be using his services again and will recommend him to my friends and family.

Electrical Panel Installation Service
The electrical panel is truly the heart of your home’s entire electrical system, distributing power steadily to every single circuit in the house. Often called a breaker box or a load center, the panel receives incoming power from the utility and then sends it exactly where it needs to go. Each breaker inside the panel protects one circuit, cutting power the very instant that circuit faults or draws more current than it should. Wallace Electric installs electrical panels for homes and businesses throughout Burleson and the surrounding communities we serve. We handle brand new panel installations, full replacements of old failing panels, and capacity upgrades for homes that have simply outgrown their original service. A modern, properly rated panel safely supports the heavy demands of today’s homes, from central air conditioning all the way to EV chargers. An outdated or undersized panel constantly struggles under that load, tripping breakers repeatedly and creating very real safety risks. Our licensed electricians size each panel to your home’s actual and future needs based on a proper load calculation. They install every single component to the National Electrical Code, with proper grounding, bonding, and the required working clearances. A correctly installed and properly sized panel is the dependable foundation that the entire rest of your electrical system quietly relies upon.
There are several clear signs that your home may need a new electrical panel. Frequent breaker trips are one of the most common warning signs, often pointing directly to a panel that simply cannot keep up with demand. A panel that feels warm to the touch or gives off any burning smell signals a serious and urgent problem that needs immediate attention. Flickering or dimming lights every time large appliances start up can clearly indicate a panel that is under heavy strain. Rust, corrosion, or any visible damage inside the panel are all clear warnings that a replacement is overdue. A panel that still relies on fuses rather than modern breakers is badly outdated and often undersized for modern living. Panels from certain manufacturers have a known history of failure and should be replaced for safety. A home that simply lacks the capacity for new appliances or a planned addition very often needs a full panel upgrade. Two prong outlets and an absence of GFCI or AFCI protection can also point to an aging system. Recognizing these warning signs early lets you replace the panel before it fails completely or causes real harm to your home.
Modern homes demand far more electrical capacity than homes built just a few decades ago. Central air conditioning, electric ranges, clothes dryers, and electric water heaters all draw heavy, sustained power from the panel. Newer additions like EV chargers, hot tubs, and fully equipped home offices add even more to the total electrical demand on the panel. Many older panels were originally rated for a hundred amps or even less, which simply cannot meet the needs of a modern household today. Upgrading to a higher capacity panel, very often a full two hundred amps, gives your home plenty of room to grow. Our licensed electricians always perform a detailed load calculation to determine exactly how much capacity your home truly requires. This calculation accounts for your current appliances and the equipment you plan to add later. Sizing the panel correctly prevents both the genuine danger of an overload and the needless waste of paying for unused capacity. A properly sized panel handles today’s demands while leaving room for tomorrow’s additions. This kind of forward thinking approach saves you from the cost and hassle of needing another upgrade in just a few short years.
Installing an electrical panel is precise, demanding work that requires real expertise and care. The job always begins with a careful load calculation to confirm the correct panel size for your particular home and its needs. We then coordinate directly with the utility company, since the power must be safely disconnected before we can replace the panel. Our electricians carefully mount the new panel, connect the heavy service conductors, and land each individual circuit on the correct breaker. We install proper grounding and bonding so that the panel can reliably protect your home and family during a fault. Every connection is torqued to specification, since a loose lug generates heat and eventually fails. We label each circuit clearly so the panel is easy to understand for any future work. We add GFCI and AFCI protection where the code requires it to keep your home compliant. After the installation is complete, we test the entire panel thoroughly before restoring power to the home. The end result is a clean, organized, and fully code compliant panel that is built to serve your home reliably for decades.
A panel installation involves coordination that goes beyond the electrical work itself. Replacing an electrical panel requires both a permit and an inspection in most of the jurisdictions around Burleson. Our electricians pull all of the proper permits and then schedule the inspections that your particular project requires. We also coordinate with the utility company to disconnect and reconnect power safely. This careful coordination ensures the work is done fully legally and that power is restored to your home without any issue. We plan the timing of the whole job carefully to minimize how long your home has to go without power. For homes with a meter upgrade or service change, we manage that process as well. We handle the entire project from start to finish so you do not have to navigate it alone. This full service approach removes the stress and guesswork from a major electrical upgrade. You work with one single trusted team that carefully manages every detail of the installation from beginning to end.
A new electrical panel delivers benefits that reach throughout your entire home. The most important benefit by far is safety, since a modern panel reliably protects against the overloads and faults that cause house fires. A new panel also provides reliable power, ending the frustration of frequent breaker trips. The added capacity lets you confidently add new appliances, a home addition, or an EV charger without any worry. Modern breakers, including GFCI and AFCI types, add layers of protection that older panels lack. A new panel often supports the addition of whole house surge protection to guard all of your sensitive and expensive electronics. Insurance companies sometimes favor homes that have modern panels, and prospective buyers certainly do as well. A clean, organized, and properly labeled panel makes all of your future electrical work noticeably easier and safer. The investment in a new panel pays you back in safety, reliability, and peace of mind. This is exactly why a panel upgrade remains one of the most valuable and worthwhile improvements that any homeowner can make.

For urgent panel failures, our emergency electricians are available around the clock to restore safe power. When you need an electrical panel installed correctly, our experienced team is always ready to assist.
The Importance of a Licensed Electrician for Electrical Panel Installation in Burleson, TX
Installing an electrical panel is among the most demanding and dangerous jobs in the trade. The service conductors entering the panel carry lethal voltage even when the main breaker is off. A licensed electrician understands this danger and follows the procedures that keep the work safe. In Texas, electrical licensing is regulated by the state to protect homeowners from unqualified work. A licensed professional knows how to perform a load calculation and size the panel correctly. They understand how to install proper grounding and bonding so the panel protects your home. They coordinate with the utility to disconnect and reconnect power safely and legally. They pull the permits and schedule the inspections that the work requires. A licensed electrician also carries insurance that protects you if something goes wrong. An improperly installed panel can overheat, fail to protect your circuits, or even start a fire. Unlicensed panel work may save money today and create a serious hazard tomorrow. Wallace Electric sends only licensed, background checked technicians to every panel installation, so the work is always done right.

Commonly Asked Electrical Panel Installation Questions
Electrical panel installation raises several practical questions about cost, sizing, timing, and safety. The answers below address the topics homeowners across Burleson ask us about most often.
The cost to install a new electrical panel depends on several factors unique to your home. The size of the panel is a major factor, since a two hundred amp panel costs more than a smaller one. A simple replacement of an existing panel costs less than a full service upgrade. Upgrading the amperage often involves the utility and a meter change, which adds to the cost. The condition of your existing wiring and service entrance also affects the total. Permit and inspection fees in your local jurisdiction add a modest amount to the project. The accessibility of the panel location can influence the labor involved. Because every home differs, Wallace Electric provides a clear written quote before any work begins.
Several elements make up the total cost of a panel installation. The panel itself, the breakers, and the materials are one part of the price. The labor reflects the skill and time required for this demanding work. Coordination with the utility for a service upgrade adds another component. If your service entrance or meter needs updating, that work adds to the scope. Bringing older wiring up to code during the upgrade can also affect the cost. We inspect everything before quoting so there are no surprises later. Financing options are available to make this major investment easier on your budget.
The most accurate way to learn your cost is to have a licensed electrician evaluate your home. We perform a load calculation to determine the right panel size for your needs. We inspect your service entrance, wiring, and existing panel condition. From there, we build a transparent estimate that lists each part of the work clearly. You will know exactly what you are paying for before we begin. We never add hidden charges once the job is underway. This honest approach has earned the trust of homeowners throughout Burleson. Call Wallace Electric today for an accurate panel installation quote.
Several warning signs indicate that your home may need a new electrical panel. Frequent breaker trips are one of the most common signals of a panel that cannot keep up. A panel that feels warm or gives off a burning smell points to a serious problem. Flickering or dimming lights when appliances start can indicate a panel under strain. Rust, corrosion, or visible damage inside the panel are clear signs of trouble. A panel that uses fuses instead of breakers is outdated and often undersized. These signs suggest the panel is struggling, aging, or unsafe. Recognizing them early helps you act before a failure occurs.
The capacity of your panel is another key consideration. Many older homes have panels rated for a hundred amps or less. Modern homes with central air, electric appliances, and EV chargers need far more capacity. If you cannot add a new appliance or addition without overloading the panel, an upgrade is due. A panel constantly running near its limit is both inefficient and unsafe. Adding major equipment to an undersized panel invites overloads and breaker trips. A load calculation reveals whether your panel has the capacity you need. Our electricians perform that calculation to give you a clear answer.
Certain panels should be replaced regardless of obvious symptoms. Panels from manufacturers with a known history of failure are a safety concern. These panels can fail to trip during a fault, leaving circuits unprotected. An electrician can identify whether your panel is one of these problem brands. Old panels lacking GFCI and AFCI protection also fall short of modern safety. If you are unsure about your panel, a professional inspection provides clarity. Our electricians evaluate your panel honestly and explain your options. To find out if you need a new panel, contact Wallace Electric.
The right panel size depends on your home’s total electrical demand. Panel capacity is measured in amps, with common sizes being one hundred, one hundred fifty, and two hundred amps. Most modern homes need at least a two hundred amp panel to handle today’s loads. Smaller older homes may have functioned on a hundred amp panel for years. As homes add central air, electric appliances, and EV chargers, that capacity falls short. The correct size is determined by a load calculation rather than a guess. This calculation adds up the demands of all your circuits and equipment. The result tells us the minimum capacity your home requires.
A proper load calculation accounts for both current and future needs. We total the demand from your heating, cooling, appliances, and general circuits. We factor in any equipment you plan to add, like an EV charger or hot tub. This forward thinking prevents the need for another upgrade in a few years. Sizing the panel too small leads to overloads and constant breaker trips. Sizing it with appropriate headroom gives your home room to grow. Our electricians balance these factors to recommend the right size. This precision ensures your panel serves your home for the long term.
Choosing the right size is a decision best made with a licensed electrician. A panel that is too small creates safety risks and constant frustration. A panel with sensible capacity supports your home reliably for decades. Our electricians perform the load calculation and explain the results clearly. We recommend a size that fits your current needs and your future plans. We never upsell capacity you will never use or shortchange your needs. This honest, technical approach gives you the right panel for your home. For a proper panel sizing assessment, trust the team at Wallace Electric.
Most electrical panel installations are completed in a single day. A straightforward replacement of an existing panel typically takes several hours. A full service upgrade involving the utility and a meter change takes longer. The complexity of the work and the condition of your wiring affect the timeline. Coordination with the utility for disconnecting and reconnecting power adds time. Inspections, when scheduled separately, can extend the overall process by a day. We give you a realistic timeline before we begin the work. Our goal is to restore your power as quickly as safety allows.
The installation process involves several careful steps. We start with the load calculation and coordinate the utility disconnect. We mount the new panel, connect the service conductors, and land each circuit. We install proper grounding and bonding and label every breaker. We test the panel thoroughly before restoring power to the home. Each of these steps takes time to do correctly and safely. Rushing this work would compromise both safety and quality. Our electricians work efficiently while keeping every step to code.
Planning keeps the project on schedule and minimizes your time without power. We coordinate the utility and the inspection timing in advance. We plan the work so your home is without power for the shortest time possible. We communicate the schedule clearly so you know what to expect. If we discover hidden issues, we explain them and adjust with your approval. Surprises are rare when an experienced electrician plans the job well. We clean up thoroughly so your home looks untouched when we leave. For a clear timeline on your panel installation, contact Wallace Electric.
Yes, replacing an electrical panel requires a permit in most Texas jurisdictions. Cities around Burleson, including those in Tarrant and Johnson counties, enforce this requirement. A permit triggers an inspection that confirms the work meets the National Electrical Code. This process protects you, your home, and any future owners of the property. Panel work is significant, so the permit and inspection are important safeguards. Skipping the permit can lead to fines and a requirement to redo the work. It can also create problems when you sell or insure your home. Wallace Electric handles the permitting process so you never have to navigate it alone.
The permit process for panel work involves coordination with several parties. The local jurisdiction issues the permit and conducts the inspection. The utility company must disconnect and reconnect power for the replacement. A licensed electrician knows how to coordinate all of these steps. We pull the permit, schedule the inspection, and work with the utility on timing. This coordination ensures the work is done legally and safely. It also guarantees the finished panel carries proper documentation. That paperwork is valuable when you sell or insure your home.
Attempting panel work without a permit creates serious risks. Unpermitted electrical work can complicate a home sale or an insurance claim. If the work fails a later inspection, you may have to redo it entirely. Panel work done incorrectly is also dangerous, which is why inspection matters. The cost of a permit is minor compared to these potential consequences. Wallace Electric never cuts this corner, because your safety comes first. We manage the entire permitting and inspection process as part of our service. For permitted panel work done right, trust the licensed team at Wallace Electric.
A fuse box and a breaker panel both protect your home’s circuits, but they work differently. A fuse box uses fuses, which contain a metal strip that melts when a circuit overloads. Once a fuse blows, it must be replaced with a new one of the correct rating. A breaker panel uses circuit breakers, which trip and can be reset rather than replaced. This makes breakers far more convenient than fuses for everyday use. The breaker simply switches off during a fault and switches back on after the issue is resolved. This fundamental difference is why modern homes use breaker panels. Fuse boxes are now considered outdated technology.
Fuse boxes carry several drawbacks beyond the inconvenience of replacement. Homeowners sometimes install the wrong size fuse, which defeats the protection entirely. A fuse rated too high allows too much current before it blows, creating a fire risk. Fuse boxes are also typically undersized for the demands of a modern home. They often lack the capacity for central air, electric appliances, and EV chargers. They cannot accommodate modern GFCI and AFCI protection the way breaker panels can. For these reasons, a fuse box is both less safe and less capable. Replacing one with a modern breaker panel is a significant safety upgrade.
Upgrading from a fuse box to a breaker panel brings your home up to modern standards. The new panel provides more capacity for today’s electrical demands. It allows the convenient resetting of breakers instead of replacing fuses. It supports modern protective devices like GFCI and AFCI breakers. It also makes future electrical work safer and easier. Our electricians handle this upgrade from the load calculation through the final inspection. We size the new panel correctly and install it fully to code. To replace your fuse box with a modern panel, trust the team at Wallace Electric.
Yes, your power will be off for part of a panel installation. Replacing the panel requires disconnecting power at the service to work safely. The utility company typically disconnects the power before we begin the core work. This is a necessary safety step, since the panel cannot be replaced while energized. The duration of the outage depends on the complexity of the installation. A straightforward replacement involves a shorter outage than a full service upgrade. We plan the work to minimize how long your home is without power. We communicate the expected timeline so you can prepare.
We take steps to make the outage as manageable as possible. We coordinate the utility disconnect and reconnect to keep the process efficient. We prepare everything in advance so the actual power off time stays short. We work steadily through the installation to restore power as soon as it is safe. For most homes, the outage lasts a portion of the day rather than longer. We let you know the expected window so you can plan around it. Sensitive needs, like medical equipment, should be discussed with us in advance. We work with you to address any special concerns about the outage.
Planning ahead makes the outage a minor inconvenience rather than a disruption. You may want to prepare for the time without power based on our estimate. We recommend planning for items that depend on continuous power. Once the new panel is installed and tested, we restore power promptly. The brief outage is a small trade for a safer, more capable electrical system. Our electricians keep you informed throughout the entire process. We never restore power until the panel is fully tested and safe. For a smoothly managed panel installation, trust the team at Wallace Electric.
A quality electrical panel typically lasts several decades when properly installed. Many panels function reliably for twenty five to forty years or more. The lifespan depends on the quality of the panel and the conditions it operates in. A panel in a dry, stable environment lasts longer than one exposed to moisture. Heavy continuous loads can shorten a panel’s life over time. Proper installation by a licensed electrician helps a panel reach its full lifespan. Regular inspection can catch problems that might otherwise shorten its life. Even a long lasting panel eventually reaches the end of its service life.
Several factors can shorten the life of an electrical panel. Moisture and corrosion attack the components and connections inside. Repeated overloading stresses the breakers and the bus bar. Loose connections generate heat that damages the panel over time. Panels from certain manufacturers have a known history of premature failure. Physical damage or improper modifications also reduce a panel’s lifespan. Our electricians can assess the condition and remaining life of your panel. This evaluation helps you plan for replacement before a failure occurs.
Knowing when to replace a panel protects your home and family. A panel showing signs of age, damage, or overheating should be evaluated promptly. An older panel that lacks modern capacity and protection is a candidate for upgrade. Replacing a panel proactively is safer than waiting for it to fail. Our electricians help you understand the condition of your current panel. We recommend replacement only when it genuinely makes sense for safety or capacity. We never push an unnecessary upgrade on any customer. For an honest assessment of your panel’s lifespan, contact Wallace Electric.
