Professional Ceiling Fan Installation Services in Burleson

A ceiling fan looks simple, yet a safe installation requires real electrical knowledge and a properly rated support box. At Wallace Electric, our licensed technicians handle every step from mounting the bracket to wiring the switch. We confirm the electrical box is rated to carry the weight and motion of a moving fan. A standard light fixture box cannot support a fan, and using one invites a dangerous fall. Our team installs the correct fan rated box and secures it firmly to the framing above. We balance each blade so the fan runs quiet and free of any annoying wobble. Proper wiring lets you control the fan and the light separately when you want that flexibility. We can add a wall switch, a remote, or a smart control to match how you live. Every connection is made cleanly and protected inside the box according to code. Our background checked technicians treat your home with care and clean up fully before leaving. With a five year parts and labor warranty available, your new fan is backed for the long haul. Wallace Electric makes ceiling fan installation easy, safe, and built to last.

We hired this electrician for our breaker panel replacement in Dallas after buying an older home. The existing panel wasn’t up to code and couldn’t support the modern appliances that got installed by the previous owner. They installed a new electrical service panel, whole home surge protection & hosted a city inspection. He explained everything very clearly. If you’re in need of a home electrical panel upgrade, I highly recommend them. The work was clean, efficient and the whole process was stress-free. Great experience from start to finish thanks guys!

These guys are awesome - I was painting for a customer and removed the can lights to remove popcorn texture, however they required some adjustment because of the new ceiling height. Wallace was hired by the customer to do other light renovations and so I asked them if they could add on a small scope. I know this was a big ask because it's always difficult to change your scope of work especially late at night as they were ( the customer was moving in the next day and working hard to add extra touches). But their service was awesome and obviously very skilled because the modification was quick and professional and the customer loved the seamless service. I also found the prices very affordable and would continue to do business with them.

Ceiling Fan Installation Service

A circuit breaker is one of the most important safety devices in your entire home, even though most people never give it a second thought. Its job is to cut power the instant a circuit draws more current than its wiring can safely carry. When a breaker works correctly, it stops an overloaded or faulted circuit before the wire overheats and ignites the surrounding material. Wallace Electric installs circuit breakers of every common type for homes and businesses throughout Burleson and the surrounding communities. We add breakers for new circuits, replace failed breakers, and upgrade older panels with modern protective devices. The right breaker is never a guess, because it must match the wire size, the load, and the panel it sits inside. An undersized breaker trips constantly and frustrates the homeowner who relies on that circuit every day. An oversized breaker is far more dangerous, since it allows too much current to flow before it finally trips. Our electricians calculate the correct rating for each circuit and verify that choice against the National Electrical Code. That careful matching is the foundation of every safe breaker installation we complete.

Not all circuit breakers are the same, and choosing the correct type matters as much as choosing the correct size. A standard single pole breaker protects a basic 120 volt circuit that serves lights and common outlets. A double pole breaker spans two slots and protects 240 volt circuits for ranges, dryers, and air conditioners. Ground fault breakers, known as GFCI, protect areas near water by sensing tiny current leaks and cutting power fast. Arc fault breakers, known as AFCI, detect the dangerous arcing that often precedes an electrical fire inside a wall. Dual function breakers combine both GFCI and AFCI protection into a single device for the circuits that require it. Modern code requires these advanced breakers in bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and many other living spaces throughout the home. Our electricians know exactly where each type belongs and install it so your home meets current safety standards. We also confirm the breaker is listed for your particular panel, since brand compatibility is a genuine safety requirement. Installing the wrong type or an incompatible brand may look fine yet quietly leave a circuit unprotected.

Adding a new circuit breaker is often the first step toward powering something new in your home. A new appliance, a workshop tool, an EV charger, or a room addition may all require a dedicated circuit. We begin by confirming your panel has an open slot and enough capacity to handle the additional load. If the panel is full, we discuss options such as a tandem breaker, a subpanel, or a service upgrade with you. We never force a new breaker into a panel that cannot safely support it, because that invites an overload. Once we confirm capacity, we run the correctly sized conductor and land it on a breaker matched to that wire. We torque every connection to the manufacturer’s specification, since a loose lug generates heat and eventually fails. We then label the new breaker so the circuit is easy to identify during any future work. Before we restore power, we inspect the panel for proper grounding, bonding, and clearance around the new device. The finished circuit is clean, organized, and protected exactly the way the code demands.

Many homeowners call us because a breaker has failed rather than because they want a new circuit. Breakers wear out over time, especially when they trip frequently or carry a heavy load for years. A breaker that no longer trips when it should is a silent and serious danger inside your panel. A breaker that trips for no apparent reason may have weakened internally and now trips below its rated value. Scorch marks, a burning smell, or a breaker that feels hot to the touch all point to a failing device. We test the breaker, inspect its connections, and confirm whether the fault lies in the breaker or the circuit. Replacing a worn breaker with the correct new device restores proper protection to that circuit immediately. We also check the surrounding breakers and bus bar for heat damage that a failing breaker may have caused. Sometimes a single bad breaker reveals a larger panel issue that deserves attention before it spreads. Our methodical approach finds the real problem instead of simply swapping parts and hoping for the best.

Panel compatibility is a detail that homeowners rarely consider, yet it shapes the safety of every breaker installation. Each panel manufacturer designs its breakers to fit and connect in a specific way to its bus bar. Using a breaker that was not tested and listed for your panel can create a loose or improper connection. That poor connection generates heat, and heat inside a panel is the beginning of many electrical fires. Some older panels are no longer considered safe at all, and certain brands have a known history of failure. When we encounter one of these obsolete panels, we explain the risk honestly and recommend a proper path forward. We never install a mismatched breaker just to save time or money, because the danger simply is not worth it. Our electricians stock the correct listed breakers for the panels common in Burleson area homes. We verify the listing, the rating, and the fit before any breaker goes into your panel. This attention to compatibility is a quiet but essential part of doing the job right.

A breaker installation is also an opportunity to evaluate the overall health of your electrical panel. While the cover is off, our electricians inspect the bus bar, the connections, and the condition of the wiring. We look for signs of overheating, corrosion, double tapped breakers, and improper modifications from past work. We check that the panel is properly grounded and bonded, since this is fundamental to how breakers protect you. We confirm there is adequate working clearance and that the panel is not overloaded beyond its rating. If we spot a problem, we explain it clearly and let you decide how you want to proceed. This kind of inspection often catches small issues before they grow into expensive emergencies. Adding whole house surge protection at the panel is another upgrade we can discuss during the visit. A healthy panel keeps every breaker working as designed and protects the home for many years. We treat the panel as a complete system rather than focusing on a single breaker in isolation.

Choosing Wallace Electric for your circuit breaker installation means choosing experience, honesty, and real care for your safety. We are a family owned and operated company with deep roots in the Burleson community we serve. Every technician we send is licensed, background checked, and drug tested for your complete peace of mind. We work cleanly inside your panel and leave the area exactly as we found it when we finish. Our white glove service reflects the respect we hold for every home and business we enter. Financing options help you handle larger panel work without straining your budget all at once. A five year parts and labor warranty stands firmly behind the quality of our installations. We explain every recommendation in plain language so you can make a confident and informed decision. For urgent electrical problems, our emergency electricians are available around the clock to restore safe power. When you need a circuit breaker installed correctly, our experienced team is always ready to help.

The Importance of a Licensed Electrician for Ceiling Fan Installation in Burleson, TX

A ceiling fan may seem like a simple weekend project, yet the electrical and structural risks are very real. A licensed electrician understands the wiring, the support requirements, and the code rules that keep a fan safe. In Texas, electrical work is regulated by the state to protect homeowners from unqualified and unsafe installations. A licensed professional knows that a fan demands a fan rated box anchored directly to the framing above. They recognize when existing wiring is outdated, damaged, or unable to support a new fan safely. They make every connection to code so there is no risk of arcing, overheating, or fire. A fan mounted incorrectly can wobble loose and fall, which is a serious hazard in any room. A licensed electrician also carries insurance that protects you if anything ever goes wrong. Unlicensed work might save a few dollars today and lead to costly repairs or injury tomorrow. Working at height with live wiring is not the place for guesswork or shortcuts. Wallace Electric sends only licensed, background checked technicians to every job we perform. Hiring the right professional protects your home, your family, and the comfort you are paying for.

Commonly Asked Ceiling Fan Installation Questions

Ceiling fan installation raises a handful of practical questions, especially around mounting, wiring, and choosing the right fan. The answers below cover the topics homeowners across Burleson ask us about most often.

The cost to install a ceiling fan depends on the conditions present in your specific room. Replacing an existing fan where wiring and a fan rated box already exist is the most affordable option. Installing a fan where only a light fixture existed before requires a new fan rated box and adds to the cost. Running new wiring to a room that has no ceiling fixture at all is the most involved scenario. High ceilings, sloped ceilings, and large great rooms add labor because of the equipment and time required. The type of switch or control you choose also influences the final price of the job. A simple pull chain costs less than a wall switch, a remote, or a smart control setup. Because each room differs, Wallace Electric provides a clear written quote before any work begins.

The fan itself is a separate cost from the installation labor and materials. Basic fans are inexpensive, while large designer fans with integrated lighting and smart features cost more. We are happy to install a fan you have already purchased or help you choose the right one. The installation price reflects the box, the wiring, the mounting, and the testing we perform. When a room lacks existing wiring, we run new cable and add a switch, which increases the scope. Older homes sometimes hide wiring that must be repaired before a new fan can be safely installed. We inspect these conditions up front so there are no surprises midway through the project. Financing options are available to make larger or multiple fan installations easier on your budget.

The most accurate way to learn your cost is to have a licensed electrician evaluate the room. We check the existing box, the wiring, and the ceiling height before we quote the job. We confirm whether the current support can hold a fan or whether a new box is needed. From there, we build a transparent estimate that lists each part of the work clearly. You will know exactly what you are paying for before we begin. We never add hidden fees once the work is underway. This honest approach has earned the trust of homeowners throughout Burleson. Call Wallace Electric today for an accurate ceiling fan installation quote.

Yes, you can replace a light fixture with a ceiling fan, but the electrical box must be upgraded first. A standard light fixture box is not rated to support the weight and motion of a fan. Mounting a fan to a light box risks the fan loosening and eventually falling from the ceiling. The correct approach is to install a fan rated box anchored securely to the ceiling framing. This box is built to handle the constant vibration and weight of a spinning fan. Our electricians remove the old light box and install the proper fan rated support in its place. We anchor that box directly to a joist or to a brace rated for fan loads. Only then is the location truly ready to carry a ceiling fan safely.

The wiring may also need attention during this kind of replacement. A light fixture often uses a single switch leg, while a fan may need separate control for the light and the motor. If you want independent control, we can run the additional wiring and install a dual switch. Remote controls offer an alternative when running new wire would be difficult or costly. We inspect the existing wiring for damage or outdated materials before we connect anything. Older homes sometimes reveal worn insulation or undersized conductors that should be addressed first. We handle these issues so your new fan operates safely and reliably from day one. Doing the wiring right is just as important as installing the correct box.

Many homeowners attempt this swap themselves and discover the box problem only after the fan starts to wobble. A fan that vibrates against an inadequate box loosens over time and becomes a genuine hazard. The safest path is to let a licensed electrician confirm the support before the fan goes up. We assess the box, the framing, and the wiring as a complete system. We then install the fan rated box, run any needed wiring, and mount the fan securely. We balance the blades and test every speed before we call the work finished. The result is a fan that runs quiet and stays firmly in place for years. If you want to replace a light with a fan, trust Wallace Electric to do it safely.

The right ceiling fan size depends mainly on the square footage of the room. A fan that is too small moves too little air, while one that is too large overwhelms a compact space. As a general guide, a small room up to a hundred square feet suits a fan around thirty six inches. A medium room benefits from a fan in the forty four to fifty two inch range. Large rooms and great rooms often need a fan of fifty two inches or more to circulate air well. Very large spaces may even call for two fans to move air evenly across the room. Blade span is the key measurement, since it determines how much air the fan can push. Matching the span to the room is the first step toward effective and comfortable airflow.

Ceiling height plays an equally important role in choosing the right fan. For comfort and safety, fan blades should sit at least seven feet above the floor. On a standard eight foot ceiling, a flush mount fan keeps the blades at a safe height. Taller ceilings need a downrod to lower the fan into the effective airflow zone. A fan mounted too high against a vaulted ceiling moves far less air down into the room. We measure your ceiling and recommend the right mount and downrod length for your space. Sloped ceilings require an angle adapter so the fan hangs level despite the pitch. These measurements ensure the fan performs the way it should once it is installed.

Beyond size and height, the room’s purpose shapes the ideal fan choice. A bedroom benefits from a quiet motor and gentle airflow for restful sleep. A living room may call for a fan with integrated lighting to serve as a central feature. A covered patio needs a damp or wet rated fan built to handle humidity and weather. We consider how you use each room before recommending a fan that truly fits. Airflow rating, measured in cubic feet per minute, helps compare how effectively different fans move air. Our electricians weigh all of these factors to guide you toward the best choice. For help selecting and installing the right size fan, reach out to Wallace Electric.

A wobbling ceiling fan is a common complaint with several possible causes. The most frequent reason is blades that are out of balance with one another. Dust buildup, warped blades, or slightly bent blade brackets all throw the fan off balance. A loose mounting can also cause the entire fan to shake as it spins. If the fan is attached to a box that is not rated for a fan, the wobble may signal a serious safety issue. Loose blade screws are another simple cause that often goes unnoticed for a long time. A downrod that is not seated correctly can let the fan sway at higher speeds. Identifying the true cause is the first step toward a steady, quiet fan.

Our electricians start by checking the mounting and the electrical box behind the fan. We confirm the box is fan rated and anchored firmly to the framing above. We tighten every blade screw and inspect each blade for warping or damage. A balancing kit helps fine tune the fan so it spins without shaking. We verify the downrod is seated properly and the canopy is secure against the ceiling. If a blade is bent or cracked, we recommend a replacement to restore balance. We test the fan at every speed to confirm the wobble is fully resolved. This careful process turns a shaky, noisy fan back into a smooth and quiet one.

Ignoring a wobbling fan is not a good idea, because the motion only worsens over time. Constant vibration loosens connections, strips screws, and wears out the motor bearings. In the worst case, a fan on an inadequate box can work itself loose and fall. Addressing the wobble early protects both the fan and the people in the room below. If your fan shakes even after you tighten the blades, the problem may lie in the box or the mount. That is a job best left to a licensed electrician who can inspect the hidden support. We find the root cause and correct it so the fan runs safely for years. If your ceiling fan wobbles, call Wallace Electric for a thorough inspection.

Yes, ceiling fans can help lower your energy bills when used the right way. A fan does not actually cool the air, but it makes you feel cooler through the wind chill effect. That sensation lets you raise the thermostat a few degrees while staying just as comfortable. Since cooling is one of the largest costs in a Texas home, even a small thermostat change adds up. Running a fan costs far less per hour than running the air conditioner harder. The savings grow across the long cooling season that defines our local climate. The key is to turn the fan off when you leave the room, since it cools people and not the air. Used wisely, a ceiling fan is one of the most cost effective comfort upgrades available.

Ceiling fans also help in winter, which surprises many homeowners. Most fans have a reverse setting that pushes air upward instead of downward. This gentle updraft pulls warm air off the ceiling and circulates it back down into the room. Warm air naturally rises, so this redistribution helps your heating system work less. The result is more even comfort and a lighter load on your furnace during cold snaps. We can show you how to switch the fan direction with the season for maximum benefit. Using the fan in both modes stretches its value across the entire year. A quality fan becomes a tool for comfort and savings in every season.

The savings depend partly on the efficiency of the fan you choose. Energy efficient motors use less electricity while moving air just as effectively. Fans with efficient integrated lighting save energy on the lighting side as well. We can recommend models that balance performance, efficiency, and style for your home. Proper installation also matters, since a poorly balanced fan wastes energy and wears out faster. A fan that runs smoothly draws steady power and lasts far longer. We install each fan correctly so it delivers its full efficiency from the start. For energy saving fan recommendations and expert installation, contact Wallace Electric.

Yes, a ceiling fan can be installed in a room with no existing ceiling wiring. The job is more involved because new wiring and a fan rated box must be added. Our electricians run cable from a nearby power source to the new fan location. We install a fan rated box anchored to the framing so the fan has solid support. We also add a wall switch or wire the fan for remote control as you prefer. This work requires opening the ceiling or wall in places to route the cable. We plan the path carefully to minimize disruption and keep the repair clean. The result is a fully functional fan in a room that never had one before.

The complexity of running new wiring depends on the layout of your home. An attic above the room makes routing cable much easier and faster. A room on a lower floor with finished space above requires more careful fishing of the wire. We assess the structure and choose the least invasive path to the fan location. Where we must open drywall, we keep the access points small and tidy. We can coordinate with a finisher if patching and painting are needed afterward. Our goal is a clean installation that looks like the fan was always there. We explain the plan before we start so you know exactly what to expect.

Adding a fan to a room without wiring is a job that calls for a licensed electrician. Running new circuits, adding switches, and installing a proper box all involve code requirements. A licensed professional ensures the new wiring is safe, protected, and correctly connected. We confirm the existing circuit can handle the added load before we tie in. We label the new switch clearly and test the fan fully before we finish. This careful approach protects your home and gives you a reliable fan for years. Attempting this without proper training risks both safety and a poor result. For a new fan in a room with no wiring, trust the team at Wallace Electric.

Most ceiling fan installations are completed in one to two hours. A straightforward replacement where wiring and a fan rated box already exist goes quickly. Swapping an old fan for a new one of similar size is usually the fastest job we do. Installing a fan where only a light existed takes longer because we add a fan rated box. Running new wiring to a room with no ceiling fixture extends the time further still. High ceilings and sloped ceilings add time because of the equipment and care involved. The control type also matters, since a new switch or smart setup adds wiring steps. We give you a realistic time estimate before we begin the work.

A simple replacement breaks down into a few clear steps. We remove the old fan, inspect the box and wiring, and confirm the support is adequate. We then mount the new bracket, hang the fan, and connect the wiring carefully. Balancing the blades and testing each speed completes the job. This process usually takes about an hour when conditions are good. When a fan rated box must be added, we factor in extra time to install it properly. New wiring runs add the most time because of routing and any drywall access needed. We work efficiently while keeping every step safe and up to code.

Clear communication keeps each installation on schedule from start to finish. We confirm the fan, the location, and the control setup before we begin. If we find a box or wiring issue, we explain it and adjust the plan with your approval. Surprises are rare when an experienced electrician inspects the job first. Our technicians arrive on time and respect the schedule you have set aside. We clean up thoroughly so the room looks perfect when we leave. For multiple fans, we plan the day to install them all efficiently. Contact Wallace Electric for a clear timeline on your ceiling fan installation.

A circuit breaker cannot be installed in just any electrical panel, because compatibility is a strict requirement. Each panel manufacturer designs its breakers to fit and connect to its bus bar in a specific way. A breaker that is not tested and listed for your particular panel may create a loose or improper connection. That poor connection generates heat, and heat inside a panel is a leading cause of electrical fires. Some breakers look nearly identical yet differ in ways that matter for a safe and secure fit. Using a mismatched breaker is a shortcut that quietly leaves your circuit and your panel at risk. Our electricians always verify that a breaker is listed for your exact panel before installing it. This single detail is one of the most important parts of a safe breaker installation.

Panel brand and model determine which breakers are approved for use. Manufacturers publish lists of the breakers that are tested and certified for each panel they produce. A licensed electrician knows how to read these listings and match the correct device to your panel. We stock the proper breakers for the panel brands common in Burleson area homes. When a panel uses an unusual or older type, we source the correct compatible breaker rather than improvise. This care ensures the breaker seats firmly and carries current the way it was designed to. We never install a substitute that merely appears to fit the available slot. That kind of guesswork is exactly what creates dangerous connections inside a panel.

Older and obsolete panels present their own compatibility challenges. Certain panel brands are no longer made, and some have a known history of safety problems. Finding listed breakers for these panels can be difficult and sometimes impossible. When we encounter one of these panels, we explain the situation honestly and recommend a path forward. Often the safest solution is a panel upgrade that restores both capacity and reliable protection. We never force an incompatible breaker into an aging panel just to avoid that conversation. Your safety always outweighs the temptation to take a shortcut. If you are unsure whether a breaker fits your panel, let Wallace Electric inspect it and advise you correctly.
