We hired this electrician for our breaker panel replacement in Dallas after buying an older home. The existing panel wasn’t up to code and couldn’t support the modern appliances that got installed by the previous owner. They installed a new electrical service panel, whole home surge protection & hosted a city inspection. He explained everything very clearly. If you’re in need of a home electrical panel upgrade, I highly recommend them. The work was clean, efficient and the whole process was stress-free. Great experience from start to finish thanks guys!

March 11, 2026

These guys are awesome - I was painting for a customer and removed the can lights to remove popcorn texture, however they required some adjustment because of the new ceiling height. Wallace was hired by the customer to do other light renovations and so I asked them if they could add on a small scope. I know this was a big ask because it's always difficult to change your scope of work especially late at night as they were ( the customer was moving in the next day and working hard to add extra touches). But their service was awesome and obviously very skilled because the modification was quick and professional and the customer loved the seamless service. I also found the prices very affordable and would continue to do business with them.

Caleb and his partner came on time and got right to work. They were absolutely great to work with. They were professional and treated my home with respect. The outlet was installed to the exact specifications that was needed by the installer. After they were done they made sure everything was I working order and then cleaned up. I was highly impressed. I will definitely be using his services again and will recommend him to my friends and family.

Electrical Wiring Service

Electrical wiring is the hidden network of conductors that carries power throughout your entire home, tucked away inside the walls, floors, and ceilings. Every single outlet, switch, light fixture, and appliance in your home depends entirely on this wiring to function safely and reliably. Wallace Electric handles electrical wiring of every kind, large and small, for homes and businesses throughout Burleson and the surrounding communities we serve. We install brand new wiring, fully rewire older homes, repair damaged wiring, and extend existing circuits to new areas of the property. Wiring is the very foundation of your electrical system, so its quality directly affects both the safety and the performance of your home. Faulty, damaged, or outdated wiring is one of the leading causes of house fires and serious electrical hazards. Our licensed electricians size every single conductor correctly and follow the National Electrical Code on every job we perform. They route all of the wiring carefully, protect it from damage, and make every connection both secure and accessible for the future. From a single new circuit to a complete home rewire, we bring the very same precision and care to every project. Properly installed wiring is the dependable backbone that quietly supports your home’s growing electrical needs for many decades to come.

There are many different situations where electrical wiring work becomes necessary for a home or a business. New construction requires a complete and carefully engineered wiring system designed for the building from the ground up. A home addition or a major remodel always needs new wiring to properly serve the added space and all of the new circuits. Older homes very often need rewiring once their original wiring no longer meets today’s current safety standards. Adding a major appliance, an EV charger, or a full workshop may require entirely new dedicated wiring run all the way to that location. Damaged wiring from age, rodents, water intrusion, or careless past work needs prompt repair to restore safety. Outdated wiring methods like knob and tube or cloth insulated wire are among the most common reasons to rewire a home. Aluminum branch wiring from a certain era requires special attention and sometimes full replacement for safety. Each one of these situations calls for wiring that is correctly sized, properly routed, and installed fully to code. Recognizing when wiring work is genuinely needed helps you keep your home both safe and fully functional.

Older homes present a number of unique wiring challenges that require real experience to handle properly and safely. Many homes built several decades ago have wiring that was simply never designed for today’s modern electrical demands. Knob and tube wiring, which is found in many very old homes, lacks a ground entirely and can be a serious safety hazard. Cloth insulated wiring degrades steadily over the years, leaving the conductors exposed and prone to dangerous faults. Aluminum wiring, common in homes from a certain period, expands and contracts in ways that gradually loosen the connections. These older systems often simply cannot safely support all of today’s appliances, electronics, and heavy electrical loads at once. Rewiring an older home brings it fully up to current safety standards and gives it modern electrical capacity. Our electricians approach these projects carefully, always working to minimize disruption to your walls and finishes. We carefully plan the routing in advance to reduce the number of access points we need to open in your home. This thoughtful and careful approach makes rewiring an older home far less disruptive than many homeowners initially expect.

The signs of a wiring problem are well worth knowing so that you can act before a real hazard develops. Flickering or dimming lights can often point to loose or damaged wiring hidden behind the walls. Frequent breaker trips may indicate a hidden wiring fault, a short circuit, or simply an overloaded circuit. A burning smell or warm outlets and switches are serious warning signs of an underlying wiring problem. Discolored or scorched outlets and switches clearly reveal connections that have already overheated badly behind the wall. A mild shock or a faint tingle from an appliance or fixture usually indicates a wiring or grounding fault. Buzzing or humming sounds from outlets, switches, or fixtures strongly suggest loose or arcing connections. Two prong outlets found throughout the home signal old wiring that lacks a proper ground. Rodent activity in the attic or inside the walls can damage wiring and create dangerous hidden faults. Recognizing these warning signs early lets our electricians address the wiring before it ever becomes truly dangerous.

Installing or replacing wiring correctly involves genuine precision at every single step of the process. We always begin by carefully planning the circuits and selecting the correct wire size for each individual load. The wire gauge must always match both the breaker and the load, since undersized wire overheats dangerously over time. We route the wiring carefully through walls, attics, and conduit, protecting it from abrasion and physical damage. We secure the cable correctly at every point, since loose or unsupported wiring is a very common cause of hidden faults. We make every single connection inside a proper junction box and never leave a splice hidden loose in a wall. We install the outlets, switches, and fixtures, connecting each one securely and with the correct polarity. We add both GFCI and AFCI protection in every location where the code requires it for safety. Every connection is carefully inspected and tested before we ever energize the new wiring. The end result is a clean, organized, and fully code compliant wiring system that is built to last for many decades.

Quality wiring work is about far more than simply making the lights turn on when you flip a switch. Properly sized conductors run noticeably cooler, last far longer, and carry their full load without strain. Secure connections made inside accessible junction boxes prevent the loose splices that so often cause fires. Correct routing and proper support protect the wiring from the kind of damage that could create faults later on. Proper grounding throughout the entire system protects both your family and your valuable appliances. Code compliant wiring passes inspection and protects you later when you sell or insure your home. Well organized and clearly labeled wiring makes all future electrical work easier, safer, and less expensive. The difference between merely adequate wiring and truly excellent wiring shows up in safety and reliability over time. Our electricians treat every wiring job as the critical foundation that it truly is. This deep commitment to quality is exactly why so many customers across Burleson trust us with their homes.

Choosing Wallace Electric for your electrical wiring means choosing real precision, lasting safety, and genuine care for your home. We are a proudly family owned and operated company with deep and lasting roots in the Burleson community we serve. Every single technician we send is licensed, background checked, and drug tested for your complete peace of mind. Our white glove service reflects the genuine respect we hold for every home and business we are invited to enter. Flexible financing options help you comfortably handle larger wiring projects without straining your household budget all at once. A full five year parts and labor warranty stands firmly behind the lasting quality of all of our work. We explain every recommendation in clear, plain language so you can always make a confident and informed decision. When you need electrical wiring done correctly the first time, our experienced team is always ready to assist.

The Importance of a Licensed Electrician for Electrical Wiring in Burleson, TX

Electrical wiring is the foundation of your home’s safety, so it deserves a licensed professional. A licensed electrician brings the training to size, route, and connect wiring correctly. In Texas, electrical licensing is regulated by the state to protect homeowners from unqualified work. A licensed professional knows the National Electrical Code and the local amendments around Burleson. They size every conductor to match the breaker and the load it must carry. They route and secure the wiring to protect it from damage and faults. They make every connection inside a proper junction box rather than hidden in a wall. They pull the permits and schedule the inspections that wiring work requires. A licensed electrician also carries insurance that protects you if something goes wrong. Faulty wiring is a leading cause of house fires, which makes proper work essential. Unlicensed wiring may save money today and create a serious fire hazard tomorrow. Wallace Electric sends only licensed, background checked technicians to every wiring job, so the work is always done right.

Commonly Asked Electrical Wiring Questions

Electrical wiring raises several practical questions about cost, older homes, and safety. The answers below address the topics homeowners across Burleson ask us about most often.

The cost to rewire a house depends on several factors unique to your home. The size of the home is a major factor, since more square footage means more wiring. The number of circuits, outlets, switches, and fixtures affects the total scope. The accessibility of the wiring influences the labor, especially in finished walls. An older home with difficult access takes more time than an open, accessible one. The type of existing wiring, such as knob and tube or aluminum, affects the work involved. Permit and inspection fees in your local jurisdiction add to the project. Because every home differs, Wallace Electric provides a clear written quote before any work begins.

Several elements make up the total cost of a rewire. The wire, devices, and materials are one part of the price. The labor reflects the skill and time required for this detailed work. Accessing wiring in finished walls and ceilings adds time and effort. Patching and finishing the access points may be part of the project. Bringing the home fully up to code during the rewire affects the scope. We assess all of these factors before quoting so there are no surprises. Financing options are available to make a larger rewire easier on your budget.

The most accurate way to learn your cost is to have a licensed electrician evaluate your home. We assess the size, the existing wiring, and the accessibility of the work. We determine what the rewire involves and what your home requires for safety. From there, we build a transparent estimate that lists each part of the work clearly. You will know exactly what you are paying for before we begin. We never add hidden charges once the job is underway. This honest approach has earned the trust of homeowners throughout Burleson. Call Wallace Electric today for an accurate rewiring quote.

Several signs indicate that your house may need to be rewired. Frequent breaker trips can point to wiring that cannot handle the load. Flickering or dimming lights may signal loose or damaged wiring behind the walls. A burning smell or warm outlets and switches are serious warning signs. Discolored or scorched outlets reveal connections that have overheated. Two prong outlets throughout the home indicate old wiring that lacks a ground. A mild shock from an appliance points to a wiring or grounding fault. These signs suggest the wiring is aging, damaged, or inadequate.

The age and type of your wiring are key considerations. Homes with knob and tube wiring are strong candidates for rewiring. Cloth insulated wiring degrades over time and often needs replacement. Aluminum wiring requires special attention and sometimes replacement for safety. A home that has never been rewired in many decades deserves an evaluation. Older wiring often cannot support modern appliances and electronics safely. If your home has any of these wiring types, an inspection is wise. A professional can confirm whether rewiring is needed.

The surest way to know is to have a licensed electrician inspect your wiring. We examine the wiring type, condition, and capacity throughout the home. We test outlets and circuits to identify faults and grounding issues. We explain what we find and whether rewiring is warranted. We never recommend a rewire that is not genuinely needed. We give you honest information so you can make the right decision. This careful approach ensures you address real safety concerns. To find out if your home needs rewiring, contact Wallace Electric.

Knob and tube wiring is an early wiring method found in homes built long ago. It uses ceramic knobs to support the wires and ceramic tubes where wires pass through framing. The hot and neutral wires run separately rather than together in a cable. This system lacks a ground wire, which modern wiring includes for safety. Knob and tube was common in the early twentieth century before modern methods. While it may still function, it does not meet current safety standards. The lack of a ground is one of its most significant shortcomings. This is why knob and tube is a common reason to rewire a home.

Knob and tube wiring carries several real risks in a modern home. The insulation on the old wires degrades and becomes brittle over time. Brittle insulation can crack and expose the conductors, creating a fault risk. The system was not designed for the heavy loads of modern appliances. Covering knob and tube with insulation can cause it to overheat dangerously. Past modifications by unqualified hands often make the system even less safe. The lack of a ground leaves no safe path for fault current. These factors make knob and tube a genuine safety concern.

If your home has knob and tube wiring, an evaluation by a licensed electrician is wise. Our electricians assess the condition and extent of the wiring. We explain the risks and discuss your options for addressing them. In most cases, replacing knob and tube with modern wiring is the safest choice. We handle the rewire carefully to minimize disruption to your home. We bring the system up to current code with proper grounding. This removes the hazards and gives your home modern, reliable wiring. To address knob and tube wiring, contact the team at Wallace Electric.

Aluminum wiring was used in many homes during a certain period and carries specific risks. Aluminum expands and contracts more than copper as it heats and cools. This movement can loosen connections at outlets, switches, and devices over time. Loose connections generate heat, which is the main hazard of aluminum wiring. Aluminum also oxidizes, creating resistance that adds to the heat at connections. These factors make aluminum wiring connections more prone to overheating than copper. While aluminum wiring is not always an immediate emergency, it requires attention. The connections are where the real risk lies.

There are ways to make aluminum wiring safer without always replacing it entirely. Special connectors rated for aluminum can create reliable connections at devices. A method called pigtailing connects aluminum to short copper leads at each device. These approaches address the connection points where the hazard is greatest. In some cases, full replacement with copper wiring is the better long term solution. The right approach depends on the condition and extent of the aluminum wiring. Our electricians evaluate the system and recommend the safest practical option. This ensures the wiring is made safe using proper, listed methods.

Aluminum wiring should be handled only by a licensed electrician who understands its requirements. The connectors and methods for aluminum differ from those for copper. Using the wrong connectors can make the hazard worse rather than better. Our electricians know the correct, listed methods for aluminum wiring. We assess your wiring and recommend the right solution for safety. We make the connections properly to reduce the risk of overheating. We explain your options honestly so you can decide how to proceed. To address aluminum wiring safely, contact the team at Wallace Electric.

The time to rewire a house depends on its size and complexity. A small home may take several days, while a larger one takes longer. The accessibility of the wiring is a major factor in the timeline. Wiring in open walls during a remodel is faster than fishing through finished walls. An older home with difficult access naturally takes more time. The number of circuits, outlets, and fixtures affects the duration as well. We give you a realistic timeline based on your specific home. Our goal is to complete the work thoroughly without unnecessary delay.

A rewire involves several careful steps that each take time. We plan the circuits and the routing for the whole home. We run the new wiring, often fishing it through walls and ceilings. We install or reconnect the outlets, switches, and fixtures. We make every connection inside a proper junction box and test the system. Each of these steps must be done correctly and to code. Rushing the work would compromise both safety and quality. Our electricians work efficiently while keeping every step precise.

Planning keeps a rewire on schedule and minimizes disruption to your home. We coordinate the work to reduce the time you are affected. We plan the access points carefully to limit the patching needed afterward. We communicate the timeline clearly so you know what to expect. If we discover hidden issues, we explain them and adjust with your approval. We clean up as we work to keep your home livable during the project. We restore power safely once each portion is complete and tested. For a clear timeline on your rewire, contact Wallace Electric.

Most electrical wiring work requires a permit in Texas jurisdictions. Cities around Burleson, including those in Tarrant and Johnson counties, enforce this requirement. A permit triggers an inspection that confirms the work meets the National Electrical Code. This process protects you, your home, and any future owners of the property. Wiring work is significant, so the permit and inspection are important safeguards. Skipping the permit can lead to fines and a requirement to redo the work. It can also create problems when you sell or insure your home. Wallace Electric handles the permitting process so you never have to navigate it alone.

The permit requirements can vary depending on the scope of the work. A full rewire and a small wiring addition may have different requirements. A licensed electrician knows which rules apply to your specific project. We determine the permit requirements before we begin the work. We pull the permit and schedule the inspection on your behalf. This saves you time and removes the guesswork from the process. It also ensures the finished work carries proper documentation. That paperwork is valuable when you sell or insure your home.

Attempting wiring work without a permit creates real risks. Unpermitted electrical work can complicate a home sale or an insurance claim. If the work fails a later inspection, you may have to redo it correctly. Wiring done incorrectly is also dangerous, which is why inspection matters. The cost of a permit is minor compared to these potential consequences. Wallace Electric never cuts this corner, because your safety comes first. We manage the entire permitting and inspection process as part of our service. For permitted wiring work done right, trust the licensed team at Wallace Electric.

In many cases, a house can be rewired with minimal damage to the walls. Experienced electricians use techniques to route new wiring through existing spaces. We fish wiring through wall cavities, attics, and basements where possible. We make small, strategic access points rather than opening entire walls. This approach reduces the patching and finishing needed afterward. The feasibility depends on the construction and layout of your home. Some homes allow extensive fishing of wire, while others require more access. Our electricians plan the routing to minimize disruption wherever possible.

Several factors affect how much access a rewire requires. An attic or basement provides routes that reduce the need to open walls. The location of studs, insulation, and obstructions affects the fishing of wire. A two story home may require more access than a single story one. Our electricians assess the structure to plan the least invasive approach. We use the existing pathways and access points whenever we can. Where we must open drywall, we keep the openings small and tidy. This careful planning keeps the disruption to a minimum.

While some access is usually necessary, a skilled approach limits it greatly. Our electricians have the experience to rewire with minimal wall damage. We explain the access points we expect before we begin the work. We coordinate any needed patching so your home is restored properly. We keep the work clean and the openings as small as possible. This thoughtful approach makes rewiring far less disruptive than many expect. The result is modern wiring with minimal impact on your finishes. For a rewire that minimizes disruption, trust the team at Wallace Electric.

Several signs can warn you of bad or faulty wiring in your home. Frequent breaker trips suggest a wiring fault, a short, or an overloaded circuit. Flickering or dimming lights can point to loose or damaged wiring. A burning smell from outlets, switches, or walls is a serious warning sign. Warm or discolored outlets and switches reveal connections that have overheated. Buzzing or crackling sounds from outlets or fixtures suggest arcing connections. A mild shock or tingle from an appliance indicates a wiring or grounding fault. Any of these signs deserves prompt professional attention.

Other signs are more subtle but still important to recognize. Outlets that no longer hold a plug securely may have worn or loose wiring. Two prong outlets throughout the home indicate old, ungrounded wiring. Lights that dim when an appliance starts may signal undersized or strained wiring. Repeated bulb failures in a fixture can point to a wiring problem. Scorch marks around a device reveal overheating behind the wall. These signs often develop slowly and are easy to overlook. Paying attention to them helps you catch a wiring problem early.

When you notice any of these signs, a professional evaluation is the safe response. Our electricians diagnose the wiring and trace the fault to its source. We explain what we find and recommend the right repair or rewire. We never overstate a problem or push unnecessary work. We address genuine hazards promptly to keep your home safe. We test every repair to confirm the fault is resolved. Recognizing these signs and acting on them protects your home and family. If you notice signs of faulty wiring, contact Wallace Electric.
